Computer Access

The Kaldan National Library will have KCI K-Series computers for the patrons to use. Specs will include 16GB of memory, two 128GB modules in RAID-1, and an SDXC card reader for the patron to save and load their personal files on. The features will be as follows:

Internet Activities

This will probably be the most common use of the computers provided to the patrons, and that is because internet access will allow them to seek housing and employment. It will also allow them to go to web based email providers to see if they have any email. If they need to save files, they will need an SD card, and that card will have to be inserted into the computer to be able to save. All of this is done using the OS standard web browser.

Office Suite

This will be designed to allow the patron to maybe work on a resumé, and store it on their own SD card. One could also use the spreadsheet application, or presentation application. The goal is to be productive, and give the patron a means to get work done. With a time limit, the patron can’t do too much, but it will allow them to have some access. If they need more time, then they can signup again, and wait their turn. When need be, the patron can print any file they have on their system for 25¢ per page. If the patron does not pay for their pages, the files will be shredded at the end of the day.
