Every patron will be able to borrow up to 10 items for a total of 2 weeks. This does not include digital borrowing where that limit is separate and at 10 items for 2 weeks with digital items. The physical media can include books, CDs, and DVDs. They will be able to go to https://catalog.library.ka, and select the items they wish to borrow. The patron will also be able to select their home library where the items will be delivered to. Once available for pick up, the patron will receive an email stating that the items are ready for collection. In which case, they will have 7 days to retrieve the items, and 2 weeks after receiving the media to return it. They do not have to return to the library they borrowed from, but they can return it to any Kaldan National Library in the same county. The items will be scanned as returned.
If the patron is late on returns, there is a fine of 5ยข per item per day. This means a maximum borrowing of 10 items being 2 days late will cost the patron $1.00 which will have to be paid before they can borrow any more items. The money collected from the fines will go into the operations budget. If the patron wants to contribute to the library’s budget, they will simply be able to donate at any front desk system, or send money to Account 20073232665.
