Depending on the library, there will be classes learning how to do various things. One of the most important classes that one could take will be how to use a computer. With Kaldus being so future focused, a computer will become more entwined in Kaldus. There will be lessons in Kal-OS, Linux, MacOS, and Windows. The patrons should have a computer that they will learn how to use so they can follow along. For those that would buy their first computer, then the instructor will recommend Kal-OS since that is the same OS used by government, and similar entities (including the Kaldan National Library). One could get a Kal-OS based PC by going to Kaldus Computer Industries. This system is also standard on all schools in the nation, so if a guardian has a grade school student, then it would make sense to learn how to use a Kal-OS PC.
Other classes might include cooking, personal finance management, or languages. Again, this will all depend on the availability of the library. A library can’t teach French if there is no instructor for the French language. Where possible, the patron should bring their own materials. Classes will also have to be reserved. One can’t simply join a class on the whim, and the goal will be to make most if not all classes free – therefore helping the patrons that are on a limited budget. Since a library technician will have to be familiar with Kal-OS, this class will be free.
